Missions Partner Highlights: A Plastic Ocean Foundation

Living missionally is at the centre of how we live out our faith. One of the ways we do this at The Vine is by partnering with individuals and organisations that share our vision and desire to see God’s Kingdom reflected in our city and globally.

We want to share with you the incredible impact that we witness through these relationships through our Missions Partner Highlights! We'll have stories and posts that inform you of the different Missions Partners we have and ways you can pray and support the partners we have at The Vine!

Our first Partner Highlight is A Plastic Ocean Foundation. This Hong Kong organisation is dedicated to reducing plastic pollution, finding ways to minimise the impact through science and technological advances, as well as education and policy advocacy. On the 10th April, Laura Agusto, Senior Manager of A Plastic Ocean Foundation, (and is also a Vine member!) led a team of our people from our congregation, families, Chinese Community, and Community Group members to clean up Rocky Bay Beach in Shek O.

Working together we managed to clear 197.56kg of trash from the beach that is not maintained by the government. It was great to see everyone gather together to care for God’s creation and living out the restorative work He desires for us with Him, each other and creation.

Let’s keep A Plastic Ocean’s work in our prayers, that they may influence the way people use and dispose of plastic and trash. If you’d like to read more about the work they do you can visit their website here

If you have any questions or would like more information on how to support this partner you can contact us at missions@thevine.org.hk
